Are you lacking a little bit of Instagram Story inspiration? Fear not! To celebrate the launch of my Instagram Stories course (Social Supercharge: Instagram Stories), this podcast is all about five Instagram Stories you can do this week. And it’s packed with other cheeky tips too to help you get on board and enjoy them.
As you’ll hear in this podcast, I talk about my course… and you can find out more about that here.
Five Instagram Stories you can do this week
There are SO many things you can create Instagram Stories about, but here are five ideas to get you started!
Behind the scenes… and you can share the behind the scenes of anything! This is a great way to let people into your unfiltered life and give people more opportunity to connect with you.
Sharing a thought… maybe you want to explain a thought behind a grid post? Or something you’re dealing with… or even the thought behind the content you’re promoting at the moment. Podcast Wednesday is a great example as each Wednesday I try and do a series of Instagram Stories about the podcast and why I think people should listen and the process behind it.
A how to... show a process on Instagram Stories. And you can do this in lots of different ways. You can record in real time, or you can edit it, you can do whatever you like. Showing a ‘how to’ in steps or in your Instagram Stories can be a great way to educate your audience around the content you share or what you do.
Ask an opinion. A poll is an easy way to ask an opinion, which is great for engagement but also a really good way to find out what your audience are into. You can change the options inside the poll if you like, from Yes and No to other words and even emojis. In addition to asking people’s opinion, you can also have polls as a way for people to vote on a competition, for example. You can also have fun with this. Have a look at Abi Lyle’s Instagram Stories for more inspiration (and find out more about her here as she did a podcast with me a little while ago!)
What’s new with you? It might be something that’s new with your routines, a new purchase, a new addition to your store… or something else. It’s a great way for people to connect with you over the new thing and you can make it as fun or as serious as you like. I did this a little while ago and actually did an IGTV about a new stationery haul from Emily Cole. People loved it (and I shared to Instagram Stories too)
