Name – Louise Towl
Business name – Ready to Ride Physiotherapy and Pilates
Whereabouts do you live? – Devon
In 10 words, tell us what your business does/sells/makes – I aim to improve rider ability through advice and education
Tell us why you started your business – It is my passion, and stems from my own improvements as a rider after starting Pilates, and my frustration at the lack of awareness/understanding and perhaps willingness to accept that the rider needs to improve if the horse is to improve.
What’s your favourite event or show? – Burghley
Tell us about your four legged team members – Baz who is my main man although largely retired. We got him at four, evented unsuccessfully before turning to dressage and somehow made it to Advanced. We did two unaffiliated PSGs, and my proudest moment was when we got 62% in the second one. I now compete a tricky but talented mare called Lizzie. She’s chestnut so need I say more?
What’s your greatest achievement/pinch me moment in your business so far? – Getting over 3k views with a Facebook video
Care to share a funny equestrian/business story? – Years ago when I did a large poster advertising Pilates for Horse Riders sessions, and I was asked how I fitted the horses into the village hall…..
Best bit of business advice you’ve been given – that an aircraft uses the most fuel during take-off, so think of your business in the same way.
Favourite equestrian brands – Woof Wear, Toggi, Ariat and Horsewear
One thing we might not know about you? – I play the violin but currently don’t have the time to actually do it.
If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why? – Carl Hester- he’s just a legend; David Attenborough – another legend with so much knowledge and insight; Sarah Millican – she is hysterical
What is your superpower? – I never give up. I won the Charles Sainsbury cup for endeavour when I was 10 and I think that sums me up – it was the only prize I ever won!
What’s your pet hate? – Bad driving
Why did you join Small & Supercharged Mastermind? – To learn from you, to have the ability to ask like-minded people questions, the prospect of Sophie Callahan’s photos to use as I struggle to get decent ones myself.
What’s the best thing about the group: Two things – sorry – the community of people where I don’t feel stupid asking questions and where I learn lots even if I don’t comment, and also your teaching resources which I am working through.
Tell us all the places where we can find you –
