Have you seen Guides on Instagram? This relatively new feature provides a way for users of the platform to organise and group together content by whatever theme or idea they like.

 

How to use Instagram Guides

In this podcast, you’ll learn all about the three different types of Guides you can create through Instagram, pick up some ideas about how you might be able to use them on your account, and how they can help content live for longer on the platform.

What are the three types of Guide (available at time of publishing, obviously!)

Places – great if you want to great a guide that collates information connected to a specific place. Maybe it’s a guide around great places to visit close to where your shop is based? Maybe you’re showing people your favourite places to hang out in your local area? Or how about great places to eat, drink and sleep close to events and venues?

Products – if you have a shop, this is a no brainer, but also, if you’re a brand ambassador, this is great too. If the brand you’re working with has an Instagram Shop, you’re available to share items from their Shop on your Guide. This could also work if you’re just a keen fan of a number of brands – you don’t need to be formally connected to them to make it work!

Posts– this is the one I use the most. When you make a Guide of your posts, you’re grouping your own posts together in specific categories so people can browse these posts without having to search through your entire feed. It’s a good way to pull out things that are really important to you as a brand or influencer.
