Diarm Byrne Equiratings

Ohhh- this is a good one, and following on from the Small & Supercharged League for Aachen that was part of the Eventing Manager App, there couldn’t be a better time to share this episode with you, all about Equiratings and co-founder Diarm Byrne.

Stats, safety, success and so much more with Diarm Byrne from Equiratings

Data is such a key part of everything we do. Our day to day decisions are influenced by the numbers. But they can do a whole lot more for equestrian sport too, as Diarm from Equiratings explains.

When Equiratings started, the business worked with the federations, the various governing bodies and more B2B business. The main focus was on the numbers – whether that was people entering competitions, the data surrounding performance and trends that could influence the likely outcome at the highest level, and even where riders should focus their training based on their previous results and the patterns that produced the most penalties.

But over the last year or so, Equiratings has developed another side of their business to focus on training, working with individual riders to assess their performance, phase by phase, and see where they can make the biggest gains, through discussion and also through the OnForm app.

We also chat about the Event Rider Masters, which Diarm and Equiratings have been involved with for a little while now, adding context to the different phases as they progress; progress in the Equestrian industry; being at the World Equestrian Games with Sam; the amazing Eventing Podcast with Nicole Brown… and so much more too.

This is a genuinely fascinating listen – not just about the amazing things that Equiratings does, but the scope of how the data can be used moving forward, and also plans for the future, which sound incredible.
