Building communities and creating the Female Entrepreneur Association with Carrie GreenCarrie Green is the founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association – a business that has a thriving online community of female entrepreneurs, and an amazing membership group too. In addition to founding this incredible association, Carrie is also a published author, TEDx speaker, international speaker… the list goes on. And I was beyond excited to chat to her all about her journey on the Small & Supercharged podcast.

Building communities and creating the Female Entrepreneur Association with Carrie Green

Carrie’s journey to get to where she is now with the Female Entrepreneur Association has been been long and there’s no doubt that it really has been quite a journey. She started the association because she realised that something was missing from this area. And when she was starting her own business she noticed a real gap when it came to supporting female entrepreneurs. And she developed the Female Entrepreneur Association to address this.

Open and honest as always, Carrie talks all about how she developed the amazing community she has now, how and why she created her own magazine, how she managed to connect with ‘big’ people and how that helped her get on a bigger stage. We also talk about delighting your customers, how caring matters more than anything, and how you attract what you put out when it comes to community.

Being a published author

In addition to all of the above, Carrie has also written her own book ‘She Means Business’ which is incredible. I actually have the printed and audio version of this book and recommend it to everyone. Carrie shares the process behind writing the book and how she felt writing it, the joy she feels when other people enjoy it, and also how she managed to write the book in the end.

Of course, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, and Carrie shares about the lows of founding the Association brought too. She talks about her difficult relationship with money as a consequence of her first business, how she addressed that, and how opportunities entered her life when she was willing to allow it in.

The mumtrepreneur balancing act

We also talk about the mum life juggle, and how Carrie has managed to balance being a mum with running a business, both in the work she does with the business, and also what she wants to and what is OK to share. Again, Carrie is so, so honest about this juggle, one that many mumtrepreneurs will be able to relate to.
