Building communities and creating the Female Entrepreneur Association with Carrie GreenCarrie Green is the founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association – a business that has a thriving online community of female entrepreneurs, and an amazing membership group too. In addition to founding this incredible association, Carrie is also a published author, TEDx speaker, international speaker… the list goes on. And I was beyond excited to chat to her all about her journey on the Small & Supercharged podcast.

Building communities and creating the Female Entrepreneur Association with Carrie Green

Carrie’s journey to get to where she is now with the Female Entrepreneur Association has been been long and there’s no doubt that it really has been quite a journey. She started the association because she realised that something was missing from this area. And when she was starting her own business she noticed a real gap when it came to supporting female entrepreneurs. And she developed the Female Entrepreneur Association to address this.

Open and honest as always, Carrie talks all about how she developed the amazing community she has now, how and why she created her own magazine, how she managed to connect with ‘big’ people and how that helped her get on a bigger stage. We also talk about delighting your customers, how caring matters more than anything, and how you attract what you put out when it comes to community.

Being a published author

In addition to all of the above, Carrie has also written her own book ‘She Means Business’ which is incredible. I actually have the printed and audio version of this book and recommend it to everyone. Carrie shares the process behind writing the book and how she felt writing it, the joy she feels when other people enjoy it, and also how she managed to write the book in the end.

Of course, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, and Carrie shares about the lows of founding the Association brought too. She talks about her difficult relationship with money as a consequence of her first business, how she addressed that, and how opportunities entered her life when she was willing to allow it in.

The mumtrepreneur balancing act

We also talk about the mum life juggle, and how Carrie has managed to balance being a mum with running a business, both in the work she does with the business, and also what she wants to and what is OK to share. Again, Carrie is so, so honest about this juggle, one that many mumtrepreneurs will be able to relate to.

She Means Business Book

She Means BusinessToday I’m giving away a copy of She Means Business… and here’s why.

Why am I giving away a copy of She Means Business?

Quite simply, because I think it’s a great book that everyone in business should read. She Means Business is written by Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association. What Carrie has managed to achieve is nothing short of spectacular. From nothing, literally nothing, Carrie has created an organisation designed to support female entrepreneurs. She has a membership group, had her first ‘vacay’ this year, speaks at events and does a lot more. And she also provides a HUGE amount of free content in terms of podcasts, videos and blogs on her website the Female Entrepreneur Association.

Why do I like She Means Business?

Well, I read a LOT and I listen to a lot of podcasts and videos to help my own development. I pre-ordered Carrie’s book before it launched because I liked her manner and her attitude and was in awe of what she had achieved. I also think that she’s very honest in sharing her experiences and I think that’s important. So many people only show the highlights, which makes us mere mortals think they have everything together, everything is easy and, therefore, we are failing because some days it’s a flipping hard trudge. Carrie’s not like this. And neither is  She Means Business. It’s honest but also incredibly inspiring and motivating with plenty of take away tips that the reader can apply as they go. It’s also a big hit with clients of mine and people within the Small & Supercharged group, so it make perfect sense to have this as one of my giveaways in my first ever advent calendar competition.

Would you like to win She Means Business?

I only have one copy to give away, but all you need to do it pop on over to my Rhea Freeman PR Facebook page, watch the video that will be pinned to the top today and enter. That’s it! Of course, I’d love it if you’d tell your friends by sharing the post… although that is not an entry mechanism… as that would break Facebook Ts and Cs… and I wouldn’t want to do that!

I hope you enjoy my advent calendar competition – best of luck!

I love a business book. OK. I probably have more than many libraries. But despite my thirst for knowledge, there are some I just can not get into. I have three on the go now because I struggled with the first one (I felt the same point was being covered over and over and over), I’m just not enjoying the second. But the third is good. It’s making me think. That’s what I like in a book. I like it to make me think, I like to learn and I like to be inspired. And if you’re like me, you’re going to love She Means Business.

A bit about the author…

So, first up – the author of She Means Business. Carrie Green is the founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association. Carrie has grown a Facebook following and ‘tribe’ many people would cut arms off to have. And she’s worked with and interviewed some truly amazing people. She provides a LOT of content for free, including podcasts, and videos. And I’ve followed her online for a while. In a She Means Businessnon-stalker way. Obviously. I’ve been really impressed by what she’s achieved and her determination. And she just seems like a flipping nice person too. And her brother – he seems like a complete hoot. I think I’d like to spend the day with them both just chatting and having James sing random things at me (watch a few of Carrie’s vlogs – that statement seems a lot less random if you do!). So, a video (and, let’s be specific, a really nicely made, well produced video), popped up on my Facebook page one morning. Initially I was just blown away by the quality and production values (so much so I made my husband watch it too!), but then I wanted to know more about the book is was promoting. So I pre-ordered (I’m not sure I have ever pre-ordered a book!) and was excited. And then there were the extras – the Facebook group – an amazing bundle of all sorts from some leading names around the world, and being part of the 28 day challenge (OK, I’ve dropped a ball on this, but never mind. I can do it whenever as it’s in the book!). But the real star of the show is the book.

She Means Business – the book

She Means Business, the book, was a joy to read. It was really nicely written and I just ate up the words. Carrie has a way of making anything sound possible and achievable, and in telling you her story, you can see how she did it and how the formula, the journey, can be applied to everything you do too. Just by doing simple maths, the Members’ Club obviously makes a lot of money each month – you can see the success – but there’s not a hint of arrogance – Carrie cheers you on to do whatever you want to do. There are challenges in She Means Business and plenty of resources online to support you in your journey. It’s more of a course than a book, and for under £10 – seriously – buy it now if not sooner! And don’t worry about the title – it’ll work for men too. I’m sure of it!

So, why am I writing this review? I spoke to someone a few weeks ago who helped me achieve something big for a client because she wanted to help the ‘good guys’ – the nice people of this world- succeed. And it made me smile and nod. I know Carrie doesn’t need my endorsement or my recommendation – but she can have it. She Means Business is a seriously good book and one that I am planning to re-read from cover to cover, armed with a highlighter and sticky notes, very, very soon. Here’s a link to Amazon (it’s not a referral link or anything like that – this is my genuine opinion and I have nothing to gain by you buying She Means Business – just for the record :-))
